RTL Group are working with a well-established civil engineering contractor who are looking to bring in an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to support a multi-year tunnelling scheme. This Role can be freelance, temp to permanent or straight permanent The Role You’ll be taking ownership of the commercial function on a major tunnelling project, working closely with the site and project management teams. The position will suit someone who is confident working under NEC contracts and comfortable handling the day-to-day commercial duties on complex civil engineering works. Key Responsibilities

Overseeing the commercial management of a multi-year tunnelling project Full NEC contract administration, including early warnings, compensation events and issuing notices Measuring and quantifying tunnelling works, shafts and associated civils packages Preparing take-offs, BoQs, cost plans and monthly cost/value reports Managing subcontract procurement, valuations, variations and final accounts Monitoring budgets, forecasts and cost control throughout the project lifecycleSupporting regular commercial reviews and reporting to senior management Building strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors and delivery teams

About You

Background in civil engineering with experience on tunnelling, underground or heavy civils projects Previous experience working for a contractor in a QS/Senior QS role Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts Confident in measurement, quantification and general commercial controls Good communication skills and a practical, proactive approach
