Job Description

We have an opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join us to deliver a £42M new build education campus in Mayfield (Dalkeith).

Location: Dalkeith, with some flexibility to work from home.

Hours: 40 hours per week – some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

What will you be responsible for?

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will report to the Managing Quantity Surveyor, delivering a modern energy-efficient school and community campus that will be a fantastic asset to the local community. You will take a key role in managing the cost and cash flow through effective commercial management of subcontractors and client representatives under the contract conditions.

Your day-to-day will include:

1. Organising the division of projects into component work packages for procurement.
2. Assessing returns from subcontractors and awarding work packages.
3. Negotiating with the subcontractor supply chain to achieve best value.
4. Managing applications for payment from subcontractors.
5. Preparation of applications for payment to clients.
6. Monitoring and measuring actual expenditure against budgeted project expenditure in the form of CVR (Cost Value Reconciliation Reports).
7. Preparation of final accounts.

What are we looking for?

This role of Senior Quantity Surveyor is ideal if you can demonstrate:

Skills & Experience:

• Experience working within the main contractor environment.
• Comprehensive knowledge of NEC / JCT Contract conditions.
• Ability to create monthly CVR reports.
• Comfort in dealing with client representatives, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications and Accreditations:

• Degree or equivalent in quantity surveying.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
