Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product and design teams, and the engineering team, to bring features and products to life following our Shape Up 6-week cycle.
  • Deliver high quality and modern Rails code as part of a team of exceptional engineers and Principals.
  • Identify and implement improvements to performance, user experience, and code quality; refine the codebase through simplification and refactoring.
  • Review code and provide clear, actionable feedback to help teammates grow.
  • Ensure the maintainability and scalability of the platform overall.

What you are

  • Fluent in Ruby, and modern Rails embracing Hotwire and Stimulus.
  • A relentless problem-solver who can work independently or in a team.
  • Passionate about engineering and solving problems with simple, scalable solutions.
  • Experience running internet applications at scale on platforms such as Heroku and AWS.
  • Someone who takes pride in the code base and platform they work on.

Your responsibilities

  • Work with a team of engineers to deliver high-quality, modern Rails code.
  • Identify opportunities for simplification and refactoring in the codebase.
  • Adopt a product mindset to solve real customer problems.
  • Improve performance, user experience, and code quality; review code and provide constructive feedback.
  • Ensure the system remains maintainable and scalable.

What you’ll be working with

  • Tech Stack: Ruby on Rails, Hotwire (Turbo, Stimulus), PostgreSQL, Sidekiq, Redis, Tailwind v4
  • Infrastructure: Heroku, AWS
  • Workflow: GitHub for version control and CI/CD, Shape Up methodology
