Overview

Senior R&D Tax Credits Technical Consultant (with a strong software focus) at GrantTree, the UK’s leading innovation funding consultancy specialising in R&D Tax Credits, grants, financing and investment funding. You’ll work with clients across sectors including financial services, biotechnology, engineering, software and data science, helping maximise government funding opportunities and support cutting-edge development.

Base pay range: £60,000.00-£65,000.00 depending on experience. In addition to salary, we offer flexible working arrangements, an office in Shoreditch, and a range of benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Work with our team of writing experts to craft a strong and persuasive technical report on the client’s work
  • Attend conference calls with CTOs, engineers and other R&D professionals
  • Review technical data or patents provided by the client
  • Identify qualifying technology in collaboration with our financial, sales and account management teams
  • Share insights on technology trends to keep the team abreast of the bleeding edge of tech

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4+ years’ experience in an R&D Tax Credits role with a strong working knowledge of the UK R&D tax incentive schemes
  • Passion for science and technology innovation
  • Degree (BSc/MSc/PhD) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related discipline
  • Proficiency in modern programming languages with strong expertise in software architecture, cloud platforms, databases, AI/ML frameworks, DevOps practices, and cybersecurity
  • Alternative: equivalent professional experience demonstrating advanced software engineering expertise
  • Strong listening and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple projects
  • High level of business integrity and ethics
  • Preferably London-based but open to non-London candidates
