Job Overview

The Senior Recruitment Consultant – Clinical will lead high-volume and specialist recruitment within the healthcare and clinical sectors. This role focuses on sourcing top-tier medical professionals—such as nurses, healthcare assistants, doctors, and allied health workers—across NHS trusts, private hospitals, and care homes in the UK and internationally.

You will be responsible for end-to-end candidate management, building client relationships, maintaining compliance with NHS framework standards, and delivering exceptional recruitment outcomes in a fast-paced, regulated environment.

Responsibilities

Manage the full recruitment lifecycle for clinical roles, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and placement.

Develop a deep understanding of NHS framework agreements, clinical role specifications, and compliance protocols.

Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients, including hospitals, clinics, and care facilities.

Identify and attract top clinical talent using job boards, LinkedIn, direct outreach, and referral programmes.

Negotiate contracts, pay rates, and placement terms with both clients and candidates.

Ensure full compliance with healthcare recruitment regulations, including RTW checks, DBS verification, NMC/GMC registrations, and training certifications.

Maintain and update candidate pipelines in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).

Provide candidates with support through onboarding, relocation (if international), and assignment transitions.

Monitor shifts, placements, and contract renewals for temporary and permanent roles.

Collaborate with internal compliance, payroll, and business development teams to ensure smooth delivery.

Requirements

3+ years of experience in clinical or healthcare recruitment, preferably within a staffing agency or NHS supplier.

Strong understanding of NHS Framework compliance and clinical recruitment legislation (e.g., RTW, DBS, NMC, GMC, Health & Care Professions Council guidelines).

Demonstrated success in both temporary and permanent clinical placements.

Familiarity with ATS platforms and NHS job board integrations.

Excellent sourcing and headhunting abilities using LinkedIn, CV databases, and direct referrals.

Strong negotiation, client management, and business development skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to support both candidates and clients.

Resilience, speed, and adaptability in high-pressure environments.

Diploma or degree in HR, Business, Healthcare Management, or equivalent (preferred).
