We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of Senior Regulatory Affairs Manager.

As Senior Regulatory Affairs Manager. You will hold a crucial role in the Regulatory Affairs team supporting both Regulatory Engagement and Regulatory Development as demand requires. Support the Head of RACW HSBC UK in managing the Group’s risk in relation to UK Regulatory Developments and Regulatory Engagement.

In This Role, You Will

• Actively contribute to the Regulatory Engagement team in responding to material Regulatory Engagements including supporting meetings, requests for information, briefings and other engagements with key regulators.
• Actively contribute to the Regulatory Development Team in the identification and oversight of material “upstream" and "downstream" regulatory developments, supporting UK Risk Stewards to address regulatory change.
• Work collaboratively across the wider UK RA team, the Global RA Team and the European/Wholesale RA team to monitor, assess and support relevant stakeholders in dealing with regulatory developments and engagements affecting the Group and its activities
• Work collaboratively across the wider Regulatory Affairs, Conduct and Whistleblowing Team to share knowledge and support the wider activities of the team with regulatory input.
• Ensuring that all activities adhere to the controls and requirements specified by the Group Standards Manual, Global Compliance FIM and the local Regulatory Engagement and Regulatory Development DIMs.
• Proactively engage with, and support cross-line of defence approach in respect of engagements, business consultation responses, wider industry discussion and similar work to help ensure first class relationships with our regulators and influence material UK regulatory developments and work collaboratively with other relevant internal stakeholders within Regulatory Affairs and where relevant with other key stakeholders.
• Assist in delivery of timely and quality reporting on UK regulatory developments and engagements including a summary of key risks and issues to the Regional and where appropriate Global Business Line RA teams and to all relevant stakeholders, including Compliance and management teams and wider Group management as required.
• Assist the wider RA Team to continually enhance and improve reporting and coordination of the compliance response on UK regulatory developments and support Head of RACWHSBC UK in the provision of reports to UK management (RMM) and the HBUK and other UK Boards.
• Ensure appropriate use of systems of record, monitor and report on regulatory developments and regulatory engagements in accordance with the Regulatory Development and Regulatory Engagement DIMs.
  
  

• Proven experience of advising on regulatory engagement and regulatory change across a wide range of different business types
• Experience in one or more senior compliance roles operating at a multi-business level.
• Proven knowledge of financial services regulation as relevant to HSBC’s UK businesses.
• Knowledge of both regulatory and financial crime compliance risks and industry good practices in managing them across jurisdictions and businesses.
• Strong written communication skills and attention to detail
• Excellent verbal communicator with strong inter-personal and influencing skills.
• Proven facilitation skills.
• Lateral thinker with an ability to interpret and solve complex issues.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, including liaising with colleagues at all levels
