OverviewSenior Research and Insight Analyst, GENERAL MEDICAL COUNCILThe GMC works with doctors, physician associates (PAs), anaesthesia associates (AAs), those they care for and other stakeholders to support good, safe patient care across the UK. We set the standards doctors, PAs, AAs and their educators need to meet, and help them achieve them. If there are concerns these standards may not be met or that public confidence in doctors, PAs, or AAs may be at risk, we can investigate, and take action if needed.
The RoleThe Senior Research and Insight Analyst works in the GMC’s Data Research and Insight Hub, providing analytical and research project management expertise. The role is critical in co-ordinating insight-based activities across a range of teams, delivering high quality, high impact published outputs and analyses. These analytical outputs include high profile publications, such as, The state of medical education and practice series of reports and leading presentations of those findings in internal and external sessions.Our Senior Research and Insight Analyst is a mixed methods specialist who is called on to present numerical and text-based findings as clear, informative insights. You would facilitate and oversee team-based project activities to create concise, robust content for reports aimed at a range of audiences. Co-ordinating the process of publication, you will problem solve and handle issues in the research and editorial process, and work with a wide range of teams including communications and policy experts.Portfolios of work will include project management of components of our flagship analytic publication, The state of medical education and practice, and leading insight activities such as survey development, linking with policy teams to develop their evidence bases, rapid evidence searches on topical healthcare and regulatory issues, and more.
The PersonWe are looking for someone who has the skills and experience to plan and oversee the development and delivery of a varied range of insight outputs including discussion papers, surveys, and reports as part of a wider team. Our ideal candidate would be proactive in their work, able to work with others to specify mixed method research, and capable of drafting high quality text to a deadline.
This is a hybrid working role, with an expectation of spending one day a week working in Manchester office. We are happy to consider a range of flexible working options, all requests will be considered in line with GMC policy.
