PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £31,800 – £41,800 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

Job Purpose
Join the BBC World Service Audience Insight team to shape global understanding of our reach and impact. As a Senior Research Executive, you\u2019ll lead quantitative audience and social research projects that inform strategic decisions and help grow BBC\u2019s global audience.
The post holder will get to work on the BBC\u2019s Global Audience Measure (GAM), which measures the BBC\u2019s weekly audience and impact each year, around the world, and involves building a single customer view of the business through merging multiple data sources and methodologies.
The Global Audience Measure is a key measure of the BBC and BBC News\u2019 performance globally, which directly informs future, and long-term business decisions. You will be involved in all stages of research, from commissioning and survey design to overseeing fieldwork, analysing data, and debriefing to editorial leadership.

In this role you will work on high-impact projects like the Global Audience Measure, and collaborate with diverse colleagues, and develop your skills in a supportive, inclusive environment.
Your Key Responsibilities And Impact
- Manage audience research projects end-to-end, including commissioning, survey design, fieldwork oversight, and analysis. Our quantitative research projects focus on hard-to-research markets outside of Europe and North America, and we use face-to-face methodologies (CAPI) as well as online methodologies when possible.
- Analyse large survey datasets and digital analytics data to generate actionable insights.
- Communicate findings to stakeholders across editorial, product, and business teams.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the Audiences team, leading and supporting projects.
- Contribute to the BBC\u2019s strategic understanding of global audiences.
Essential Criteria
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Deep knowledge of quantitative research methodologies, especially face-to-face and phone interviewing.
- Proven experience managing impactful research projects.
- Ability to synthesise insights from multiple sources into strategic recommendations.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Interest in international news and global media audiences.
Desired But Not Required
- Familiarity with media industry standard audience measurement approaches.
- Experience with digital analytics tools.
- Understanding of qualitative research techniques.
- Appreciation of global cultures and current affairs.
- Experience working in international or cross-cultural environments.
