We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, business-oriented, and pro-active individual to join our team as a Senior Rights Manager on a 12 month fixed-term contract.
Nosy Crow is a multi-award winning, independent children’s publishing company with operations in both the UK and the USA. We make child-focused, parent-friendly children’s books for ages 0-12.
This is a full-time position. This is a hybrid role, working a minimum of three days per week in our office near to London Bridge.
The successful candidate will have the right to live and work in the UK.
Purpose of the role:
- Manage translation rights and co-edition sales in key growth markets, specifically Brazil, Italy, Greece, Spain, Spanish speaking countries in Latin America, as well as Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Vietnam, Indonesia and Thailand, which are subject to modification in alignment with team needs.
- Develop robust sales strategies and customer relationships.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with international publishers, consistently seeking new market opportunities.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Skillfully negotiate rights sales, securing high revenue deals while contributing to broader company goals.
- Represent a diverse range of children’s book titles at various events and sales trips, fostering relationships with agents, scouts, and international publishers.
- Manage multiple demands effectively, collaborating across internal departments to support international author sales.
- Act as a book ambassador by creatively collaborating with the editorial team to maximize rights opportunities during acquisitions and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Oversee and collaborate with multiple external subrights agencies to optimize sales performance and ensure optimal representation, accessibility, and visibility of our titles for international publishers.
- Provide training and oversee the management of a Rights Assistant.
Skills and experience:
- Demonstrated track record as a rights seller with expertise in negotiations, presentations, and sales strategies.
- Previous experience representing a wide range of children’s books titles in pre-school, picture books, non-fiction, activity and fiction.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, coupled with effective relationship management.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a keen interest in exploring new opportunities and a deep understanding of international publishing dynamics.
- Keen interest in emerging publishing trends around the world, with a readiness to present these insights to the company and key stakeholders.

The starting salary for this role is £44,000.
