We are seeking a highly skilled Salesforce Senior Developer to create detailed design, development and deployment of scalable Salesforce solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Salesforce design, configuration, flows, Apex programming, lightning components, and integration patterns. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact CRM solutions that drive business value. Working under Agile methodologies, you will be part of the Ofgem Salesforce CoE, comprised by onshore and offshore resources. Managed by the CRM Tech Lead, providing specialist advice and development on chosen technology e.g. Salesforce. Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement customized Salesforce solutions using Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and Flows.
  • Participate on technical design sessions to enable the design of scalable and secure solutions.
  • Integrate Salesforce with external systems using REST/SOAP APIs, middleware, and third-party tools.
  • Work with project managers, technical leads, business users and subject matter experts to design, develop, maintain and support features on our CRM platform
  • Follow ways of working, development standards and code control releasing code in a controlled manner (DevOps framework).
  • Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with Salesforce best practices.
  • Stay current with Salesforce releases and new features, recommending improvements where applicable

Technical Deliverables

  • Automated Workflows: Flows, Process Builders, and Workflow Rules to streamline business processes.
  • Integration Solutions: REST/SOAP API integrations with external systems and middleware configurations.
  • Data Models: Custom objects, fields, relationships, and schema designs aligned with business needs.
  • Unit and Integration Tests: Code coverage reports and test classes ensuring platform stability and compliance.

Documentation

  • Technical Design Documents (TDD): Design documents, architecture diagrams, data flow, and component specifications.
  • User Guides and Admin Manuals: For custom features and configurations.
  • Ensure all codes and configurations are documented as outlined in Ofgem's coding standards.

Project Contributions

  • Effort Estimations: Time and resource estimates for development tasks.
  • Sprint Deliverables: Completed user stories, tasks, and bug fixes aligned with Agile ceremonies.
  • Code Reviews and Mentorship: Feedback for junior developers and peer contributions to maintain code quality.

Business Impact

  • Functional Enhancements: Features that improve user experience or operational efficiency.
  • Performance Improvements: Optimized queries, reduced load times, and scalable solutions.
  • Compliance and Security: Implementations that meet data protection and governance standards.

Person specification

  • An experienced Salesforce Developer (5+ hands on experience) with a strong understanding of Salesforce development, configuration, and customization. (Lead criteria)
  • Strong proficiency in Apex, SOQL, SOSL, Lightning Components, and Salesforce Flows. (Lead criteria)
  • Experience with Service Cloud and Experience Cloud.
  • Experience with Industry Cloud (Public Sector Solution Module desirable) and Omniscripts.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, Copado, etc)
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools like Jira or Azure DevOps.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Salesforce Platform Developer I & II certifications or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of data migration tools (e.g., Data Loader, Talend).
  • Knowledge of automated testing tools (e.g. Ms Playwright).
