Senior Scientist / Research Scientist (In-vitro / Cellular Pharmacology), London – Isomorphic Labs

Isomorphic Labs is applying frontier AI to help unlock deeper scientific insights, faster breakthroughs, and life-changing medicines. We are building an interdisciplinary team to drive breakthrough innovation in drug discovery, with a collaborative culture and a mission to solve disease with AI.

Your impact

Isomorphic Labs is seeking exceptional individuals to join an impactful in-vitro pharmacology sub team within our translational science group, working in multidisciplinary ML-based drug discovery medical research. This role is ideal for experienced in-vitro pharmacologists with knowledge of biophysical, biochemical and/or cell-based functional assays and substantial experience providing quantitative in-vitro pharmacology expertise within drug discovery projects. You will work closely with world-leading AI, ML and drug discovery experts to develop imaginative ways to test biological hypotheses, build deep mechanistic understanding of drug target interactions, and drive projects forward from early discovery to candidate selection and clinical-phase work. You will help define screening cascades for drug design programs and contribute across oncology, immunology, and partnership portfolios.

What You Will Do

  • Design efficient and comprehensive biological screening cascades for a variety of internal and partnered drug design programs.
  • Collaborate with CROs to design decision-making experiments and deliver high-quality biological data to inform progression to the clinic.
  • Work cross-functionally with our Drug Design and Technology teams.

Skills And Qualifications

Essential:

  • BSc, MSc or PhD in a relevant field of biology.
  • Extensive experience in designing and implementing biological screening cascades for drug design projects from hit identification to candidate selection.
  • Deep knowledge of experimental in‑vitro pharmacology techniques including biophysical, biochemical and/or cellular assays.
  • Experience working with CROs in acquiring and interpreting high-quality biological data in a timely manner.
  • Dynamic, agile, and flexible with the ability to work across many projects, therapeutic areas, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Effective communication across a broad interdisciplinary team and with key stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.

Nice to have:

  • Experience in project leadership or leading biology within drug discovery programs, from inception to clinical candidate delivery.
  • Experience working with Data Science groups to ingest biological data.
  • Track record of contributing to drug design projects that delivered clinical candidates.
  • Knowledge of designing and implementing assays and screening cascades for alternative modalities or chemistries (e.g., peptides or molecular glues).
  • General knowledge of machine learning modeling applied to biological systems and drug discovery.
  • Experience with target identification, validation and selection approaches.
