Senior Security Engineer – Join WSP’s Global Security Operations and Engineering team to lead Microsoft Cloud Security initiatives, including SOAR automation, SOC management, and broader security platform architecture.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Co‑operate with a globally distributed team to roll out security systems and provide tier‑3 support for security issues.
  • Guide local Service Desk/OSS teams with knowledge bases to resolve tickets at first instance for security software and configurations.
  • Develop automation (playbooks, SOAR), scripts for system health monitoring, and oversee SOC tools in use.
  • Extract data from systems and build management reports; PowerBI skills are a plus.
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer and sharing within the team.
  • Monitor and respond to feedback from customers (employees and business stakeholders).
  • Adopt a problem‑solving and solutions‑mindset, coordinating with IT teams as needed.

Finance/Budgetary Responsibilities

  • Provide feedback on tooling and identify additional needs.
  • Plan for the expansion of security tools to cover ongoing needs.
  • Evaluate license usage and potential growth.

What We Expect You To Demonstrate

  • Strong technical expertise in Microsoft security tools (MS Sentinel, Defender, Purview, Entra, AD, etc.).
  • Proven track record in improving and maturing security implementations and configurations.
  • Expertise in hardening hybrid environments (end‑user devices, servers, etc.).
  • Experience with other vendor solutions is an added advantage.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of threat and vulnerability management, and the ability to guide remediation.
  • Ability to design and implement automations, fine‑tune SIEM detection rules, and reduce manual effort.
  • Up‑to‑date awareness of emerging cyber threats (e.g., zero‑day exploits, APTs).
  • Knowledge of privileged account management, key management, and relevant systems.
  • Experience leading security system integration and architecture definition.
  • Skill in creating security reports and extracting relevant data.
  • Leadership and coaching abilities to elevate team performance.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Prior experience as a security administrator for security platforms.
  • Experience with SIEM and Microsoft Azure ecosystems, and familiarity with tools such as CyberArk or Akeyless.
  • Knowledge of EDR systems (e.g., MS Defender, KQL) or willingness to learn.
  • Meticulous approach to delivery and a willingness to learn advanced security capabilities.
