OverviewSenior Site Reliability Engineer role at Gespreksleider Jacobs, in collaboration with the Department for Business and Trade (DBT) and Inspire People.Flexible, hybrid working from London, Cardiff, Darlington, Birmingham, Salford, Edinburgh or Belfast. Salary £63,824 to £83,778 (including allowances) plus Civil Service benefits and pension. Salary is dependent on location and technical skills as assessed at interview.ResponsibilitiesBuild and scale DBT's product platform and services in AWS.Provide development teams with observability, monitoring, CI/CD pipelines and service-level objectives.Participate in an on-call rota (with allowance), helping to keep DBT services resilient and reliable.Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the growth of the SRE function.Technologies you will work with include AWS, Azure, Terraform/CloudFormation, Docker, ECS, ECR, ElasticSearch, Python/Django, PostgreSQL (RDS), Redis, and more.QualificationsCloud experience with AWS, Azure or Google Cloud.Ability to build reliable, well-tested infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi).Fluency in one or more programming languages, writing clean, effective code.Experience designing, analysing and troubleshooting distributed systems.Knowledge of Linux/Unix fundamentals and TCP/IP networking.Ability to evaluate user impact of infrastructure changes.Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.BenefitsCivil Service pension with average employer contribution of 28.97%25 days annual leave, rising to 30 with serviceHybrid/flexible working (2-3 days in office per week)Three paid volunteering days per yearLearning and development tailored to your roleInclusive culture encouraging diversitySecurity ClearanceThis role requires SC clearance.
