Job Description

As a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test in the Device Application team, you will ensure our device application software functions reliably under all operating conditions. This includes developing software test frameworks to simulate operating room environments, expanding device features, and maintaining a codebase that supports next-generation surgical technology. We seek an approachable individual capable of cross-disciplinary collaboration to deliver value.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop automated testing frameworks for software and hardware integration.
- Contribute to software design and review processes.
- Investigate, debug, and resolve testing and support issues.
- Participate in security and regulatory compliance efforts.
- Develop secure, maintainable software suitable for Class II medical devices.
Must Haves
- BS/MS in Computer, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
- Proficiency in C++ programming.
- Good knowledge of Unix/Linux systems.
- Experience with unit testing frameworks like GTest or Boost Test.
- Experience with Docker and containerized development/testing.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, solving problems proactively.
- Comfort with complex systems and understanding the impact of changes.
- Willingness to work on-site at least 2 days/week in London.
Nice to Haves
- Experience with Python.
- Knowledge of Yocto/buildroot or similar build systems.
- Experience with hardware deployment and remote device management.
- Familiarity with video codecs and tools like ffmpeg.
- Experience with AWS cloud services.
- Understanding of security principles.
- Background in medical or safety-critical software development.
