Overview

Initial 12 month fixed term contract (with full employee benefits package). We are proud to be recruiting for a global software company with lovely offices in Central London and West Sussex who are looking for an experienced Senior Software Delivery Manager with a background in Financial Services and experience managing off-shore development resources to work on a hybrid basis - in office and remote in either their London or West Sussex offices.

You will be managing the software delivery of development teams based in the UK and off-shore on multiple client facing software development projects for their software platform which has been a market leader for many years.

Responsibilities

  • Guiding the project team and coordinating efforts across departments for multiple projects. Define project scope, goals, deliverables, timelines, and resources. Oversee day-to-day project operations and ensure tasks are progressing.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for stakeholders, both internal and external, ensuring transparency and alignment. Build relationships proactively.
  • Deliver software project delivery for multiple projects, working heavily with clients to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery. Maintain strong client stakeholder management.
  • Produce and maintain clear project schedules and manage development resources based in the UK and off-shore.
  • Implement risk, issue and change management processes; engage appropriate stakeholders to ensure effective ownership and action, escalating as required.
  • Provide comprehensive progress reports to the Executive Sponsor, Project Board and Customer.
  • Organise regular project reviews and implement continuous improvement through lessons learned and changes as needed.
  • Identify resource requirements against business needs and the project plan; balance skills and capabilities to achieve objectives; manage resources efficiently.
  • Agree quality standards and processes with the customer and stakeholders; ensure outputs meet defined standards.
  • Identify key stakeholders and manage communications throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Build and manage relationships and dependencies across the project team, the client, partners and suppliers; manage supplier/partner deliverables and contracts as needed.
  • Deliver the project in accordance with the contract terms, with guidance from legal where appropriate in consultation with Client Success Managers.
  • Identify, escalate and support management of contractual issues in a timely and effective manner.
  • Foster a trusting team environment with clear responsibilities and engagement; capture and share knowledge and lessons learned; support continuous improvement and learning.
  • Support the Business Development team in developing growth opportunities.
  • Manage and oversee all testing activities ensuring the solution is fit for purpose and meets the client’s requirements.
  • Make proactive suggestions to improve delivery and related processes.

Person profile (Qualifications/Experience)

  • Very strong project delivery experience; extensive experience on large-scale software delivery projects.
  • Ability to manage UK-based and offshore resources, budgets and deliverables on complex software projects.
  • Client-facing experience with stakeholders on projects.
  • FinTech or Financial Services background is important.
  • Highly organized and methodical.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent PM certifications and experience.
  • Strong project management, planning and client project delivery experience.
  • Strong verbal, written, and organizational skills.
  • Commercial experience of Waterfall and Agile software development methodologies.
  • Ability to make big decisions, be resilient, and prioritise delivery while operating efficiently.

In summary, you’re the bridge between project vision and successful implementation, working closely with Clients and your Software Development team to ensure smooth collaboration, efficient resource utilisation, and high-quality deliverables.
