You will collaborate with product, analytics, data science, risk and controls, and operations to translate designs into tangible improvements for our customers and Wise’s mission.

What You Will Do

  • Design, build, and maintain high-performance, scalable tools and services using Java, Spring Boot, and cloud technologies.
  • Implement metric-driven, real-time observability for liquidity management systems.
  • Lead technical initiatives to improve real-time liquidity management with emphasis on automation, reliability, and performance.
  • Collaborate with product managers to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Mentor junior engineers, provide technical guidance, and conduct code reviews.
  • Drive architectural decisions and technical strategy for Treasury systems.
  • Contribute to engineering culture through knowledge sharing and best practices.
  • Partner with product and operations teams to transform complex liquidity risk scenarios into actionable insights.
  • Document and present data-driven results to stakeholders, aligning with product risk appetite and business objectives.

What We Are Looking For

  • Strong product mindset with a focus on customer value and data-driven decisions.
  • Ownership mindset and excellent communication for cross-team projects.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team, with cross-team engagement.
  • Ability to break down complex projects into incremental milestones delivering customer value.
  • Experience with design and architectural patterns, writing clean, performant, and well-tested code.
  • Curiosity and a drive for continuous learning and improvement.
  • Advocacy for best coding practices, continuous delivery, and code reviews.
  • Knowledge of asynchronous messaging systems (e.g., Kafka).
  • Knowledge of Java and Spring Boot is a plus.
  • Experience with relational databases, SQL optimization, and schema design is a plus.
  • Experience with big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Flink) and familiarity with cloud platforms and data warehousing.
  • Proven track record of leading technical initiatives and mentoring engineers.

What Do We Offer

  • Starting salary: £105,000 - £130,000
