Your Role
We're on the hunt for an outgoing, enthusiastic Senior Developer who is looking to make a meaningful impact on a product people love and rely on. Our inclusive team thrives on solving hard problems and delivering high-quality features that our customers enjoy. You'll have a lot of variety in your day, from mentoring others and leading projects to joining our scoping or refinement teams - all within an environment that feels truly rewarding
What you’ll bring:
If you have experience in some of the following, we’d love to hear from you:
- 5+ years of software development experience, particularly with Golang, TypeScript, or C++
- Team or technical leadership experience with guiding engineers and projects
- Strong knowledge of Git and Agile project management practices
- Building desktop applications for macOS, Linux, or Windows (experience with Qt is a plus)\
- macOS development, deployment, or system management
- Windows driver development or experience with Windows Kernel APIs
- Working with virtualized environments like VMware, Hyper-V, Proxmox, or Docker
- Managing and scaling cloud platforms (AWS, etc.)
- Designing and optimizing databases like MySQL and MongoDB
Your Impact in the First 180 Days:
We don’t believe in endless checklists of requirements. Instead, here’s what success might look like in your first 6 months:
30 Days: You’ve completed onboarding and gained a solid understanding of our technology stack. Contribute by delivering smaller tasks, resolving bugs, and assisting with support tickets.
60 Days: You’ve developed familiarity with several key areas of Comet. You’ve begun delivering end-to-end features of moderate complexity.
120 Days: You’ve taken ownership of projects or features from design to deployment. You’ve become comfortable navigating our code base and CI/CD processes.
180 Days: You’re are able to consistently contribute on complex features or infrastructure improvements. You’re helping shape how we build software through better code patterns, documentation, and automated tests.
You’ll thrive here if you enjoy supporting other team members, taking ownership of tasks and spotting possibilities for improvements. In addition, you have strong technical experience and are passionate about Scrum, Agile, and best practices.
You might struggle here if you prefer highly structured roles with rigid processes and find it challenging to navigate ambiguity or adapt to changing priorities. You require constant guidance or prefer working strongly autonomously with no team collaboration.
How We Work
