Overview

Senior Software Development Manager role based in Manchester (hybrid). Base pay range £90-95,000 plus great bonuses and benefits. This is a software driven business with a phenomenal tech stack, immense scale and complexity, affording some really interesting technical challenges to our engineers.

The interesting bits

As a manager of technical managers, you will lead not manage; you will mentor, coach and inspire your colleagues to be the best they can be. Create an environment fostering great communication, support and a healthy working life for colleagues. There is a lot of training and development given to all, and an important part of this role is to guide your teams down their individual learning paths. There is a lot of hiring to do, so you'll need to enjoy recruiting, onboarding, coaching and welcoming new people with new ideas and perspectives.

The skills we seek

  • Experience managing software developers, team leads and development managers. Bring learnings, battle scars and ideas to enrich our environment.
  • Some technical know-how, having been an engineer yourself.
  • This is a large engineering team (1000+ colleagues) and your team will be 30-40 strong. There are well established processes in place, with room for improvement.
