In this role, you'll act as the key point of expertise in your sector, advising colleagues, engaging with industry leaders, and steering major initiatives that raise the bar for professional quality and public trust.
Role & Responsibilities
Developing best‑practice frameworks and practical guidance for professionals working in your specialist field.
Advising senior stakeholders on complex technical and policy matters, providing insights that influence decision‑making at national and international levels.
Leading multiple projects that ensure standards remain current and aligned to market needs, often collaborating across teams and disciplines.
Representing the profession externally, building strong relationships with government, industry bodies, and peer organisations.
Contributing to long‑term strategy, helping shape how the profession evolves in response to emerging challenges and opportunities.

Experience
Substantial experience in one or more areas of surveying, such as construction, infrastructure, valuation, land management, or property services.
Recognition as a trusted technical authority, ideally supported by professional chartership (MRICS, FRICS or equivalent).
Proven ability to influence at senior levels and handle sensitive or reputational issues with diplomacy.
Excellent communication skills — able to distil complex technical concepts into clear, impactful messaging for different audiences.
Strong project management capabilities, balancing multiple priorities and delivering high‑quality work to tight deadlines.
A strategic thinker who can analyse evolving market trends and translate them into actionable professional guidance.
High levels of integrity, professional ethics, and an interest in shaping the future of the surveying profession.
