New Today
Job Description:
Overview
The Strategy team play a central role in setting the ambition and future strategic direction for the AXA Health business, ensuring that the right strategic choices are made for our members and our business, at a time where the private healthcare market is rapidly evolving. You’ll lead on key strategic analyses and projects, engaging with stakeholders from across AXA UK&I and globally across the AXA Group.
You’ll independently drive and deliver solutions to broad-ranging projects and lead on key strategic business initiatives that support growth and profitability, acting as a partner to senior stakeholders, including our Executive Committee, during an exciting period of change. You’ll identify opportunities to deliver great access to healthcare at a sustainable cost for our two million AXA Health members in the UK.
At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You''ll work at least two days a week (40%) away from home, moving to three days a week (60%) in the future. Away from home means either attendance at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events.
What you’ll be doing
- Drive the development of AXA Health’s strategy through the annual planning and prioritisation process, working closely with Finance, Commercial and Transformation teams within the Health business and at the UK and Group Head Offices to ensure alignment.
- Develop in-depth strategic reviews and presentations for our ExCom on market opportunities to drive new projects or to solve key existing business challenges. Use clear and compelling communication to establish buy-in and tailor outputs to the audience.
- Become a trusted partner to key stakeholders and business functions, building cross functional relationships to bring structured thinking to strategic issues and opportunities. Challenge the business where appropriate to ensure we stay focussed on what really matters.
- Lead on key strategic initiatives and programmes, such as market opportunity reviews, product-led discovery or merger and acquisition activity. Confidently engage with senior stakeholders and external third parties.
- Act as a delegate for the Head of Strategy where required within key governance and decision-making forums with senior executives and stakeholders, representing the strategic focus of the wider business in debate and prioritisation.
- Advocate for the AXA Health strategy with AXA Health’s employees and, where relevant, with external stakeholders, to drive strong understanding and engagement.
Due to the number of applications we expect to receive for this role, we reserve the right to close this advert earlier than the listed closing date to ensure we’re able to effectively manage interest. Therefore, if you’re interested in joining us at AXA, please don’t hesitate to apply.
What you’ll bring
- Exceptional problem- solving skills developed through in-depth experience within a relevant strategic development role covering a broad range of issues, either in-house or within a strategic consultancy.
- Experience structuring answers to complex and ambiguous problems, synthesising information quickly, highlighting key takeaways and actionable insights.
- High level of commercial acumen and analytical skills, with experience in healthcare and/or insurance desirable.
- Experience business partnering within cross-functional teams and matrix organisations, driving design and implementation of strategic solutions.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with proven ability to establish credibility and buy-in among senior executive-level stakeholders.
- Ability to lead and facilitate cross-functional meetings and workshops at different levels.
- Influencing skills, networking ability, interpersonal skills, political awareness and stakeholder sensitivity.
As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.
