OverviewSenior Structural Engineer – Shrewsbury role at WSP in the UK & Ireland.Join to apply for the Senior Structural Engineer role with a focus on bridge maintenance designs, project delivery and collaboration within the Shropshire Alliance with Shropshire Council and Kier. This contract offers opportunities across multi-asset teams and potential career development within a supportive, fast-paced environment.ResponsibilitiesLead on bridge maintenance designs, including scheme investigations, feasibility studies, detailed design, tender input, site inspections, construction supervision and assessment.Inspection of structures to DMRB and the Inspection Manual for Highway Structures.Provide technical input to agree project briefs, proposals, and deliverables with Project Managers.Check, certify (AIPs) and authorize issues of designs, documents, and reports.Manage the delivery of technical outputs of project teams.Demonstrate compliance with Health, Safety and Welfare and CDM responsibilities.Be an active and collaborative team member, and work with other disciplines, including the Client team.Contribute to technical excellence and innovation within the team.Potential for line management and mentoring opportunities.Your teamYou will be an integral part of a highly collaborative team in Shropshire of approximately 75 people, delivering a broad range of projects and supporting major projects and strategic planning for the client.Offices are in Shrewsbury with flexible working options, including home and office time.What we will be looking for you to demonstrateRelevant Degree or equivalent qualification in Civil or Structural EngineeringFull Member of a relevant professional body (CEng or IEng) or evidence for future submissionExperience as a Structural Engineer focusing on bridges and highways structuresEvidence of independently delivering complex projectsCommitment to working collaboratively and innovativelyAbout us and benefitsWe are a leading engineering and professional services firm with a global team delivering positive, long-lasting impacts.
