Job Details

The role is a Permanent/Full Time position, with 37.5 hours per week, hybrid working. Evenings & weekends required for events (TOIL available). You will be reporting to the Student Recruitment Manager and be based in Bristol, with travel expected as required.

The Role

As Senior Student Recruitment Officer, you’ll lead on recruitment events, school and college outreach, and applicant support across Bristol and surrounding regions. You’ll collaborate closely with the Student Recruitment Manager and the Head of Campus to hit ambitious recruitment targets and deliver an outstanding applicant experience.

What You’ll Do

Events & Recruitment Delivery

  • Plan and deliver a busy schedule of open days, audition days, school visits, workshops, and expos.
  • Represent dBs Institute at UCAS fairs, careers events, and community initiatives.
  • Work toward Bristol campus recruitment targets with a data-driven, strategic approach.
  • Recruit and manage a team of Student Ambassadors to support your events.

School & College Engagement

  • Build strong partnerships with feeder schools and colleges across the South.
  • Design and deliver engaging workshops and talks focused on music, sound, and the creative industries.
  • Work with dBs staff, alumni, and students to bring the brand to life in schools.

Applicant Experience

  • Support applicants from first enquiry through to enrolment with exceptional communication and care.
  • Gather and act on feedback to constantly improve the applicant journey.

Internal Progression & Outreach

  • Support progression from Access Creative College and internal FE programmes.
  • Lead on widening participation activities to reach underrepresented groups.
  • Deliver outreach that drives awareness and diversifies our applicant base.

Reporting & Strategy

  • Track recruitment data and report on lead generation, application conversion, and event outcomes.
  • Use insights to shape strategy and continuously improve your region’s recruitment impact.

What You Bring

  • 3+ years’ experience in student recruitment, event delivery, or outreach (ideally in HE)
  • Deep understanding of UK student recruitment cycles and HE landscape
  • Excellent public speaking and presentation skills
  • Strong planning, event management, and relationship-building abilities
  • Experience using CRMs, Microsoft Office, and social media in a professional setting
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
  • Experience in the creative industries or arts education
  • Knowledge of the South of England's education landscape
  • Understanding of widening participation in HE
  • Background in marketing or content creation
