Overview

This role will be based on the University campus with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.

The role aims to support the success of students at the University of Leeds, with a focus on Mature students. It will help students feel valued, thrive academically, continue in their studies and achieve their goals. The position will contribute to improving outcomes for Mature students and we particularly welcome applications from those with lived experience of being a Mature student at a UK University.

The role will support the Progression Between Years (PBY) project, including providing leadership and direction to the Engagement Caller team, who focus on reaching out to students and signposting to relevant support services. Work will involve providing project support to multiple Faculties and/or Schools across the institution, collaborating with the Central Student Success Team, Senior Faculty Student Success Officers, Engagement Callers and other stakeholders to identify focus areas, develop and deliver projects and interventions, and evaluate impact.

Engagement with academic and professional staff within faculties and more widely will help ensure that University activities and processes support groups at risk, including those from widening participation backgrounds. You will be expected to robustly evaluate and report on the impact of support delivered to understand outcomes and ensure targeted delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Provide project support to multiple Faculties and/or Schools across the institution, working with the Central Student Success Team, Senior Faculty Student Success Officers, Engagement Callers and other stakeholders to identify areas of focus, develop and deliver projects and interventions, and evaluate impact.
  • Lead and direct the Engagement Caller team, who reach out to students and signpost to relevant support services.
  • Liaise with academic and professional staff to ensure that staff, activities and processes support groups at risk, including those from widening participation backgrounds.
  • Robustly evaluate and report on the impact of support delivered to understand outcomes and ensure appropriate targeting and delivery.

Qualifications

  • Team player with excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience evaluating the impact of projects and/or interventions and analysing quantitative data to understand trends.
  • Experience or insight related to Mature students is welcomed; applications from those with lived experience of being a Mature student at a UK university are particularly encouraged.
