Senior Technical Delivery Manager at Mitie Cleaning & Hygiene Services

Location: Bristol/Manchester/Birmingham/Northampton/London – Travel to locations as required to enable successful project outcomes.

The IS Senior Technical Delivery Manager will work alongside Project Managers, Programme Managers, and the Mitie Technical Delivery Teams or 3rd Party Vendors to ground and baseline the technical components of the plan. The role reports to the Head of Quality Assurance and Technical Delivery and involves assuring the technical integration across all projects, ensuring that all technical teams have provided detailed delivery plans with appropriate resources, deliverables, and artefacts in line with the project charter. The role will make project interventions to address technical delivery risks, issues, and dependencies, ensuring the right technical teams are engaged and accountable. The post requires strong technical delivery experience, a solid Software Development lifecycle background including Operations, strategic thinking, and adaptability, with extensive leadership and stakeholder management to ensure accountability across all technical delivery teams and 3rd party vendors.

Main Duties

  • Shaping and ensuring that Mitie technical and 3rd party teams provide grounded and resourced technical plans to the Project Manager
  • Collaborating with technical teams to log dependencies, risks, and issues
  • Intervening to address technical delivery risks and issues, ensuring the right teams are engaged and accountable
  • Communicating with and influencing key stakeholders while supporting the IS strategy
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with IS PMs, Programme Managers, Ops, heads of departments, and ISBPs to support technical deliverables
  • Supporting ISBPs in creating business cases and ensuring technical inputs are integral

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or substantial related experience. A master’s degree or certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is a plus
  • Domain knowledge of SAP, Maximo, or AI applications is highly desirable
  • Technology background with a minimum of 5 years in IT technical project management
  • Proven track record delivering complex IT projects on time and within budget
  • Ability to break down problems and engage the correct resources
  • Experience of facilities management operations and related technology solutions is desirable
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with project management tools and methodologies
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Project, and Project Online
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
