Senior Technical Delivery Manager

Location: Bristol/Manchester/Birmingham/Northampton/London – travel as required.

The Senior Technical Delivery Manager works alongside Project Managers, Programme Managers and technical delivery teams or third‑party vendors to ground baseline technical components of the plan.

Reporting to the Head of Quality Assurance and Technical Delivery, the role assures technical integration across all projects, ensuring that delivery plans are detailed, grounded, resourced and aligned with the project charter.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Shape and ensure that technical and third‑party teams provide grounded and resourced technical plans to the Project Manager.
  • Work with technical teams to log dependencies, risks and issues.
  • Make project interventions to address technical delivery risks and issues, engaging the right teams and accountability.
  • Communicate and influence key stakeholders while supporting the IS strategy.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with IS PMs, Programme Managers, Ops, ISBs and ISBPs, leveraging them as required to support technical deliverables.
  • Support ISBPs in the creation of business cases and ensure that technical teams are engaged and providing integral inputs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, business administration or substantial experience in a related field; master’s or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) a plus.
  • Domain knowledge of SAP, Maximo or AI applications highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT technical project management.
  • Proven track record of delivering complex IT projects on time and within budget.
  • Ability to break down problems to ensure correct resources are engaged.
  • Experience of facilities management operations and technology solutions that support them highly desirable.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Project and Project Online.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
