Senior Test Automation Specialist

The Senior Automation Specialist will be responsible for defining, delivering, and evolving the IT automation strategy. This role will lead the ongoing implementation of automation and ensure alignment with business goals and operational efficiency. The specialist will act as a strategic advisor and hands‑on expert, driving automation initiatives across infrastructure, applications, and service delivery. They will provide management and leadership for the Test Automation implementation to enable delivery of the IT services that enable Ageas to achieve its goals, within budgets and to schedule.

Main Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, recommend and introduce automation tools and platforms.
  • Define standards and best practices for automation tooling and usage.
  • Lead the implementation of automation solutions.
  • Oversee the design, development and deployment of automation scripts, workflows and pipelines.
  • Provide leadership, direction and training to the Automation Test Team.

Skills and Experience

  • Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining automated test solutions.
  • Experience and knowledge of software architectures & technologies such as Selenium, Java, RestAssured & SonarQube.
  • Ability to innovate in the test and test‑delivery practices and process domain, forming new effective solutions to problems.
  • Significant experience testing large enterprise business systems, including front‑office (CRM / policy‑admin) and back‑office systems (reporting / document management / claims).
  • Good knowledge of DevOps practices, solid understanding of pipeline build processes and the role of test automation in pipelines.
  • Experience managing the use of test automation to provide end‑to‑end testing across deployed enterprise systems, ideally automated regression.
  • Experience managing lower‑level pipeline / overnight component and system‑level automation.
