What skills, knowledge and experience will you need?

  • Test Automation & Frameworks: Proficiency in building and maintaining automated test suites using tools like Cypress, Playwright and XCUIT.
  • Mobile & MDM Expertise: Experience testing across mobile platforms (iOS, Android) and Mobile Device Management solutions such as Workspace One and Intune.
  • Technical Testing Skills: Ability to perform functional and non‑functional testing using both manual and automated methods, with knowledge of JavaScript and other relevant languages.
  • Infrastructure & Integration Testing: Familiarity with testing cloud‑hosted infrastructure (AWS/Azure), Mobile Threat Defence software, APIs and backend services.
  • Agile Collaboration: Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in Agile teams and with internal and external stakeholders.

As a Senior Test Engineer for the Mobile Devices Service (MDS), you will lead testing efforts across the MDS technology stack. This includes designing and executing both manual and automated tests for mobile apps, infrastructure and integrations. You’ll work with tools and languages such as JavaScript, Cypress, Playwright and XCUIT, test across platforms like Workspace One, Intune, iOS and Samsung Knox devices, and ensure robust performance. The role also involves testing integrations with cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure), Mobile Threat Defence software and bespoke APIs. You’ll support both business‑as‑usual and project work, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to guide the testing strategy. Agile working, technical improvement and security‑conscious delivery are key aspects of this dynamic and impactful role.

Hybrid Working: 40% from home, 60% face‑to‑face in a hub.

Pay: Up to £71,017.

Pension: Employer contributions worth 28.97%, up to £19,758 per year.

Holidays: 26 days rising to 31 days over time, plus up to 3 extra days off a month on flexi‑time, plus public holidays.
