The role
Senior Travel Underwriter to join our growing team and help manage one of the UK’s largest travel insurance portfolios — while expanding our global footprint. In this senior role, you’ll take ownership of underwriting performance, develop market-leading products, and collaborate across the business to drive profitable growth.

What you'll do
- Manage the underwriting performance of Collinson’s travel insurance portfolio.
- Work with Actuarial teams to ensure accurate reserving and IBNR calculations.
- Collaborate with Pricing Analysts to build and refine pricing models.
- Support Business Development in designing innovative, customer-centric products.
- Evolve policy wordings to meet both regulatory and customer expectations.
- Analyse underwriting results, sales performance and claims data to propose improvements.
- Engage with reinsurance partners and distribution channels to support growth.
- Use insights from claims and assistance data to reduce losses and improve service delivery.
What you'll bring
- 5+ years of underwriting experience, with at least 3 years in travel insurance.
- Strong understanding of the UK and European travel insurance markets.
- Proven track record of driving underwriting profitability and portfolio growth.
- Analytical mindset with excellent Excel and reporting skills.
- Experience with pricing tools such as Emblem or Alteryx is an advantage.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to balance commercial goals with sound underwriting judgement.
