Role Overview
We are seeking an experiencedUK Payroll Consultantwith strong end-to-end business knowledge of UK payroll processes and legislation. The ideal candidate will bring in-depth expertise in statutory compliance, manual payroll calculations, and the ability to interpret legislation into actionable business or development requirements. This is a senior consultant role focused on delivering high-quality payroll support within the UK NextGen Payroll environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expertend-to-end supportfor UK payroll operations in line with statutory regulations.
- Demonstrate strongbusiness-level knowledgeof UK legislation and customer payrolls (beyond system-level SAP payroll experience).
- Performmanual calculationsof all UK statutory deductions, including:
- Income Tax (PAYE)
- National Insurance (NI)
- Court Orders
- Student Loans
- Pensions (including Auto-Enrolment)
- Interpret payroll-related legislation into cleardevelopment or configuration requirementsfor payroll systems.
- Advise stakeholders on compliance, payroll accuracy, and process improvements.
- Collaborate with functional and technical teams to ensure payroll delivery meets business and regulatory standards.
- Proven experience as aUK Payroll Consultantwithdeep business process knowledgeof UK payroll.
- Strong understanding of UK statutory requirements and ability to calculate statutory deductions manually.
- Practical experience translating legislation into payroll requirements.
- Minimum3 years of experience with SAP Payroll(advantageous but not mandatory).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and deliver within agreed timelines.
- SAP Payroll software experience (configuration and support).
- Exposure to UK NextGen Payroll systems or similar payroll modernization initiatives.
