Overview Marie Curie is looking for a talented Senior UX Designer who is excited by great user-centred design to join our close-knit, customer-facing digital team. This is a new role, and an opportunity to lead change for both the charity and for our users. The Senior UX Designer will lead the charity in the vision and implementation of best practice user journeys and experiences, working with all areas including Marketing, Fundraising, Caring services, Policy and Research. They will support our internal users to achieve the outcomes they need from our digital services, based on user research and insight, supported by excellence in design, accessibility, and usability. They will also shape and define external user interactions with Marie Curie and its digital products. This is an exciting time to join the team as we refocus our work to better support people under our North Star Strategy. The strategy was put in place to ensure a better end of life for all. This is an opportunity for an experienced UX designer to make their mark, own processes and practices and lead on innovation around good user experience design for both existing digital products, services and applications whilst supporting the design and delivery of new Digital products and services. Responsibilities Lead the vision and implementation of best-practice user journeys and experiences across Marie Curie digital products and services. Collaborate with Marketing, Fundraising, Caring services, Policy and Research to ensure user needs are met. Support internal users to achieve outcomes from digital services guided by user research and accessibility and usability principles. Define and improve external user interactions with Marie Curie and its digital products. Promote and own design processes, patterns, libraries and design systems, and apply brand guidelines to UX work. Facilitate workshops, communicate with stakeholders, and report on progress against targets and deadlines. What we are looking for
Creative with the ability to design intuitive, consistent, and responsive mobile-first products. Excellent knowledge of Accessibility W3C standards and the ability to apply them; strong written, verbal, and presentation communication; and high IT literacy. Experience configuring and developing reporting from user activity tools (e.g., SessionCam/Glassbox, Usability, Google Analytics) and fluency in Design Research and Design Thinking methods. Comfortable working with data to drive design decisions. Proven experience with responsive design tools (InVision, Adobe XD, Sketch, Figma) and prototyping tools (Marvel, Axure, Framer). Understanding of design patterns, pattern libraries and design systems; ability to integrate brand guidelines into UX. Experience designing for a CMS, including page layouts and content blocks. Collaborative with strong communication skills, able to engage stakeholders from non-technical to technical backgrounds, building trust and buy-in to support the Organisation’s North Star. A great team player who can prioritise multiple projects, enjoys leading and reporting on workshops, and can work to targets and deadlines.
