Senior Waste and Decommissioning Consultant - Full Time / Part Time, Manchester

We are embarking on a journey to become the global leader in Reactor Decommissioning and Radioactive Waste Management Services.
Our Reactor Operations and Decommissioning team, based in Bristol, Warrington, and Glasgow, is diverse and well-placed geographically to meet legacy challenges, including the decommissioning of the Scottish reactor fleet.
Due to growth, we are recruiting experienced engineers and scientists as Senior Waste and Decommissioning Consultants across the UK with flexible, hybrid working arrangements.

Responsibilities:
- Collaborate on technical projects with clients, using problem-solving skills in radioactive waste management and decommissioning, with knowledge of the waste lifecycle.
- Utilize and adapt technology such as radiological dose modelling, automation, robotics, and waste treatment technologies.
- Improve waste strategies and environmental permitting processes.
- Identify opportunities for business change towards Net Zero, including waste management planning and land remediation.
- Contribute to bids and proposals with technical content.
- Engage globally with team members, sharing knowledge and stakeholder engagement.
- Support global Net Zero initiatives by applying waste characterization knowledge.
- Ensure project delivery within scope, time, and budget.
- Provide technical leadership, coaching, and mentoring.
- Maintain strong client relationships and communication.
Requirements:
- Degree in science or engineering, or relevant technical experience.
- Experience in related fields; nuclear/radiation experience preferred but not essential.
- Experience working with teams and clients.
- Excellent technical report writing skills.
- Willingness to travel and adapt approach.
- Motivated, proactive, and communicative.
- Ability to build relationships and meet UK security clearance requirements.
Desirable:
- Chartered status.
- Knowledge of nuclear decommissioning and waste management.
- Project management or leadership experience.
- On-site nuclear experience.
- Bid writing experience.
