A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Sustainability Consultant or Senior Sustainability Consultant to join a respected engineering and sustainability practice with offices across the UK. The Role

Working within an established national sustainability team, you will support the delivery of sustainable design and best-practice consultancy across a diverse project portfolio. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing holistic sustainability strategies for new and existing developments
  • Leading the delivery of environmental and wellbeing assessments such as BREEAM, WELL and Home Quality Mark from concept through to post-construction
  • Undertaking a range of technical analyses, which may include:
    • Embodied and operational carbon assessments
    • Whole life carbon modelling
    • Circular economy consultancy
    • Building performance modelling, including operational energy estimates and overheating assessments
  • Supporting clients in shaping energy and sustainability strategies that promote innovation and high environmental performance
  • Mentoring and supporting junior team members
  • Contributing to internal research, development and Technical Excellence initiatives, with opportunities to lead industry-facing studies and author guidance documents

About You

You will bring experience and capability in a selection of the following areas:

  • Energy performance modelling
  • Whole life carbon assessments (embodied and operational) using platforms such as OneClick
  • Net Zero carbon strategies
  • Circular economy statements

To succeed in this role, you will also need:

  • Experience within the built environment sector
  • Previous work in a sustainability or engineering consultancy
  • A relevant degree in engineering or a related scientific discipline
  • Strong communication skills and confidence working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
  • A genuine passion for sustainability and delivering positive environmental outcomes
  • Enthusiasm for contributing to a progressive, industry-leading team
