SEO Account Manager

New Yesterday

Overview

Sierra Six Media is a Drum Recommends digital marketing agency based in Billericay, Essex. We are expanding our SEO team and looking for an experienced, technically strong SEO Account Manager.

Must be commutable and attend the Essex office 3 times a week. No fully remote option.

You will take the lead in shaping complex technical strategies and driving measurable performance, supported by our in-house SEO specialists, content writers, and development team. You will also be supported by a dedicated Relationship Manager who will assist with meetings, reporting, client management, and onboarding, giving you more time to focus on technical delivery.

This role suits someone with at least 3 years of agency experience who enjoys solving technical challenges, influencing development work, and translating complex issues into clear actions for clients.

Sierra Six Media values transparency, collaboration, and accountability. You will have the autonomy to lead, the structure to succeed, and the space to shape your role within an ambitious team.

What You Will Do

  • Lead day‑to‑day technical SEO strategy across your client portfolio, including technical audits, diagnostics, and implementation planning
  • Confidently present technical findings, opportunities, and performance metrics
  • Create structured technical roadmaps
  • Work with the Relationship Manager on reporting, data insights, testing, and quarterly performance reviews
  • Oversee keyword research and content strategy with a technical lens, ensuring correct implementation and quality
  • Partner with developers to support site migrations, platform changes, URL restructures, schema enhancements, and tracking setup
  • Collaborate with PPC, Social, and Development teams to deliver integrated campaigns
  • Contribute to overall SEO growth targets and departmental development

What We Are Looking For

  • Minimum three years of agency‑side SEO Account Management experience with a proven technical focus
  • Ability to lead technical audits and communicate complex issues simply and confidently
  • Experience resolving crawling, indexing, site speed, and schema‑related challenges
  • Strong communicator with excellent written and verbal skills
  • Organised, structured, and confident in managing multiple technical projects at once
  • A proactive problem solver who thrives on delivering measurable improvements
  • Advantageous experience in Screaming Frog, Sitebulb, SEMrush, GA4, GSC, Looker Studio, and CMS platforms such as WordPress or Shopify

The Setup

You will join a growing SEO department supported by technical SEOs, content writers, a development team, and a Relationship Manager who will help keep client operations smooth and consistent. Our tools include HubSpot, Trello, Basecamp, and a wide range of technical SEO platforms.

SEO Account Managers typically spend around 80 % of their time on client work and 20 % on technical innovation, internal projects, and process development. The role offers a flexible hybrid working setup between the Billericay office and home.

  • 4 pm Friday finish
