Overview

Service Analysis Engineer, Full Time — Derby. This position is being advertised to form a pipeline of candidates for current and future positions within Civil Aerospace. Applicants should not expect feedback immediately; the team will endeavour to review CVs in a timely manner.

What You Will Be Doing

How often will our products need maintenance? What deterioration modes will need addressing? How much will the maintenance cost? Answering questions like these helps the Product Service Analysis team to improve and support our products, keeping Rolls-Royce at the top of its game. We are seeking an analyst who values the detail as much as the bigger picture, and who can take the necessary steps to chart a journey of 1000 miles. You will support the provision of new capability to answer these questions with data management, analysis, modelling and stakeholder integration.

Responsibilities

  • Understand the business requirements to be served with data management, analysis and modelling
  • Assess existing capability for its effectiveness, efficiency, vulnerabilities and longevity
  • Design capability additions and improvements within processes, methods, tools, data flows and training
  • Implement locally, or work with key partners such as our Digital teams to implement capability additions and improvements in executive systems
  • Identify and/or retire defunct capability
  • Communicate capability changes to affected practitioners, influencing their communities to drive effective engagement

Who We're Looking For

  • Engineering or Numerical degree (or equivalent with experience)
  • General knowledge of reliability engineering
  • Data modelling and analysis
  • Familiarity with in-service data sets, data acquisition, processing chain and limitations
  • Experience with agile IT development to work effectively with professionals in that field
  • Good communication skills to cooperate with and influence both internal and external parties at all levels of the business
  • Skilled at working within a team-oriented, collaborative environment or as a sole contributor on identified projects
  • Experience of delivering projects through cross-functional teams
