Location: Edinburgh, New Uberior House (Hybrid)

Pay Rate/Salary: Competitive

Contract Length: 6 months

IR35 Status: Inside IR35

Purpose:
The role is focused on shaping service design within an agile environment, advocating for user-centred approaches, collaborating across teams, and driving design thinking in strategic initiatives. You'll also support evolving the organisation's design culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work within agile teams to define priorities, scope, and outcomes.
  • Shape strategic initiatives using customer, colleague, and market insight.
  • Facilitate workshops and engage stakeholders to clarify business needs and risks.
  • Communicate and manage expectations across multiple perspectives.
  • Support service research and document current/future state services.
  • Make user-focused design decisions and challenge constraints.
  • Own personal development and growth.
  • Collaborate closely with designers, product owners, and engineers.
  • Share knowledge, embed design principles, and actively contribute to the design community.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Proactive, motivated, and driven; fosters innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Strong relationship-building and problem-solving skills.
  • Confidence engaging with senior audiences; ability to provide constructive challenge.
  • Calm, resilient, and adaptable under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in research and design thinking methodologies.
