Permanent, Full Time, Hybrid working. Salary: PO9: £73,266 pa rising to £78,090 pa.

About Lambeth Children Services

We launched the 0-25 Disability Service in July 2024, bringing together services to support children, young people and adults as they prepare and transition to adulthood. This role offers the opportunity to shape and develop the service, promote excellence, and motivate others.
Role and Main Responsibilities
- Provide operational and strategic leadership for the 0-25 Disabilities Service.
- Ensure delivery of a high-quality, responsive support and a high standard of performance for children and young people with complex and severe disabilities.
- Oversee seamless transition to adulthood and joint working with multi-agency teams to deliver holistic services.
- Manage performance, safeguarding practice, quality assurance and budget management.
- Manage four Team Managers, including the Transition Team Manager.
The primary focus is the delivery of statutory functions for an effective Children’s social care service.
You will empower social workers to deliver high-quality, coproduced social work tailored to each family’s needs, and you will lead with risk management and multi-agency collaboration.
You will provide leadership for a designated service portfolio and ensure the service is effective, high quality, and achieves performance indicators within budget.
About You / Qualifications
- Experienced Service Manager with significant leadership in children’s social care and SEND, with understanding of services across the 0-25 age range.
- Ability to lead with passion, motivate staff, manage risk, and foster multi-disciplinary working with partner agencies.
- Ability to support social workers to deliver high-quality, meaningful social work.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and strong data analysis to identify issues and drive improvements.
- Proven track record of improving outcomes for vulnerable children and young people.
- Ability to manage all aspects of the service, ensure performance indicators are met, and manage budgets.
