We are looking for a ServiceNow System Administrator to join our community of tech experts in DWP Digital. We are using fresh ideas and leading-edge tech to build and maintain digital solutions used daily by the UK public.

What skills, knowledge and experience will you need?

  • Track record of managing and operating a secure ServiceNow environment including integration of ServiceNow Platform with other technologies.
  • Experience in supporting the development of team members to provide first-class service and capability across organisational boundaries when required.
  • Experience troubleshooting and resolving complex issues across an enterprise tooling infrastructure, with initiative and solution-oriented thinking.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience managing releases using Software Delivery Lifecycles.
  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator or extensive ServiceNow Administration experience. Candidates with extensive experience may be expected to achieve this qualification within 12 months.

You and your role

We’re looking for someone who thrives in complex technical environments to join DWP Digital, home to one of Europe’s largest ServiceNow rollouts. You’ll help keep platforms running smoothly, including ServiceNow and Amazon Web Voice, supporting over 120,000 colleagues and 20 million citizens. From managing day-to-day operations to solving tricky technical issues, you’ll help keep digital services secure, stable and future-ready.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll work on infrastructure monitoring, 3rd line support, and shaping the future of our platforms. You’ll lead a small team, grow your expertise in areas such as security and integrations, and work in a fast-paced environment focused on user outcomes.

Location: Join us in one of our digital hubs in Birmingham, Blackpool, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle or Sheffield, whichever is most convenient for you.

Hybrid Working: Hybrid model — some time at home and some time in a hub.

Pay: Up to £52,442.

Pension: Civil service pension with employer contributions of 28.97% (over £12,000 per year).

Holidays: 26 days rising to 31 days over time, plus up to 3 extra flexi-time days per month and public holidays.
