Grace's is looking for an organised and friendly Shop Supervisor to join our Grace's Bakery team on a fixed term basis to cover maternity leave. If you enjoy customer facing roles and working on your feet, this could be the role for you. This role is a fixed term position to cover maternity leave, and is anticipated to run for approximately 12 months, from September 2025.
Job Role
Supporting the Manager and Supervisor in the day to day running of the Newport (Grace's Corner) store and covering the Manager in their absence
Providing supervisory cover at our Yarmouth, Ryde, and Shanklin stores when needed
Opening and closing the shop(s)
Key holding
Cash handling including cashing up and change ordering
Ordering and stock rotation
Serving customers and ensuring they are aware of allergen information
Using an espresso machine to make hot drinks
Preparing and serving food
Supporting the team to deliver excellent customer service
Ensuring compliance with food hygiene standards and maintaining a 5 star hygiene rating
Promote customer loyalty scheme and monthly deals/discounts
Support with rota planning
Responding to and acting on absence notification, including participating in absence management procedures
Role modelling the expectations set out in the company handbook
Contributing to the monitoring of performance and providing feedback and training
We’re looking for someone who
Has previous experience in a supervisory position
Is comfortable working on their feet in customer facing roles
Is confident with upselling to customers
Is confident when leading teams, motivating staff and solving problems on the spot
Is resilient to change and problem solving, maintaining a positive approach
Able to travel to all Grace's locations
Hours and Pay
Fixed Term Contract: Begins September 2025 and anticipated to last approximately 12 months
Pay: £12.55 per hour
3 to 5 days (20-40 hrs) a week
Monday to Saturday (Availability to work every Saturday is required)
Between the hours of 7.30am to 6pm
Newport as main place of work, but must be able to travel to our other stores if needed for holiday/ sickness cover
