Overview

Edinburgh-based, Part-Time (4 days / 32 hours per week). Salary: £26,500 pro rata (equates to £21,200 before tax).

We’re looking for a Social Media & Content Assistant to shape the digital voice, reach and sales of three venues – Malones Edinburgh, Malones Leith, and Mara. Reporting to the Senior Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for creating and executing the social media strategy for the three Edinburgh venues.

This is an ideal role for a recent graduate with hospitality experience or someone with experience in social media marketing.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Plan, shoot, edit, and post content across TikTok, Instagram & Facebook. Monitor trends, plan a content calendar and schedule content ahead of time.
  • Promote key moments, such as sports fixtures, in a timely fashion.
  • Respond to messages and proactively drive bookings via social channels.
  • Develop event concepts and create engaging marketing content for promotions.
  • Shoot and design content for Smugglers Spirits & Malones Irish Whiskey.
  • Design posters, menus, and other marketing assets when required.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to deliver campaigns across the business.
  • Run paid campaigns and boost posts on social media when required.
  • Track performance of KPIs and share results with management every month.
  • Support the development and growth of new marketing channels as they are launched (e.g., loyalty programmes and email marketing).
  • Support wider sales & marketing efforts as part of a small team.

  • Are comfortable working independently – you’ll be supported but will frequently be in venues without the rest of the marketing team.
  • Enjoy sports or live events – or are willing to learn to love them!
  • Work flexibly; occasional weekend & evening work will be required to capture content.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience with social media & content creation.
  • A university degree in a relevant field would be advantageous.
  • Experience in the hospitality sector (FOH/BOH or otherwise) would be advantageous.
  • Great staff discount available at each venue.
  • Flexible hours: standard hours are Monday – Friday 10am-6pm, with freedom to capture content when events happen and take time back later.
