Role
The software development team supports the business, building applications and services that streamline business processes and integrate with third parties. As a Software Developer, you will work on a wide variety of projects as part of a collaborative team that values innovation and input. You will be involved throughout the software development cycle, working closely with teams across the company to scope, design, develop, and deploy solutions. This role provides the opportunity to gain excellent exposure to the logistics industry with one of Northern Ireland's top transport companies. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-moving environment and work closely with our in-house developers on a transformative large-scale project that will have a significant impact across all divisions upon release.
Main Duties
- Assist with support and maintenance of the current software base.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality, performance, and adherence to standards.
- Write clean and maintainable code following best practices.
- Collaborate with the team to design and develop new applications to improve business processes.
- Create and integrate APIs and services to enhance existing applications.
- Liaise across the company to ensure software meets user needs.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for customer integrations and web portals.
Essential Criteria
- Proven experience delivering production-ready applications in C#/.NET (3+ years commercial).
- Experience with developing REST APIs.
- Experience with cloud-based technologies (e.g., Docker, Eventbus, Azure products).
- Designing production-ready, resilient applications and services.
- Familiarity with Agile workflows, Git-based collaboration and code review practices.
- Strong SQL knowledge and experience working with live databases.
- Comfortable working across Windows and macOS environments.
- Quick learner, adaptable to new technologies and languages.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable Criteria
- UX Design skills.
- Comfortable working with Blazor/Dev Express.
- Experience writing automated tests and working with CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with React.
- Knowledge of Transport Management Systems (e.g., Soloplan CarLo).
- Understanding of Oracle databases.
