Overview
As a Software Developer, you will work alongside a small team of talented developers, following agile practices to develop high quality scalable solutions on Linux and Cloud platforms. Full Time - Closes 05/11/2025. You will join our in-play team within the Sports Platform department during a period of growth, fuelled by the product's success and new emerging markets. You will be working on our flagship Sports product to enhance our product offering with innovative new features. The in-play team plays a pivotal role in the continued success of the Business. Our product offers real-time betting opportunities on live sporting events, as well as industry-leading features such as live streaming and Match Live, to enhance the customer experience. You will deliver superior front-end, user-centric experiences and scalable, low-latency, highly available solutions for customers and team members, while tackling challenges beyond client products. Your software delivery, technical knowledge, attention to detail, people skills, and passion for software development will be vital to continue the team's success. This role is eligible for inclusion in the Company's hybrid working from home policy.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to development of high quality, scalable solutions on Linux and Cloud platforms in an agile environment.
- Collaborate with a small team of developers to deliver front-end and back-end features for the flagship Sports product.
- Develop low-latency, highly available solutions and ensure customer-focused, user-centric experiences.
- Contribute to product features such as real-time betting capabilities, live streaming, and Match Live.
- Engage in code delivery with attention to detail and quality, while communicating effectively with stakeholders across the business.
- Support the team in tackling challenges beyond client products and contribute to continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Commercial experience within web client or server-side development.
- Familiar with backend technology.
- Ability to clearly communicate technical matters to people across different areas of the Business.
- Experience working with Linux.
- Experience developing low latency, highly available and scalable solutions.
- Knowledge of TypeScript, Golang, JavaScript, SQL, HTML5 and CSS3.
- Exposure to environments with high volumes of transactions.
- Accustomed to Scrum or other agile software development methodologies.
- Exposure to mentoring and leadership.
- Understanding of automation and developer tooling such as Continuous Build and CI systems.
