Overview

Software Developer role at Worldline (UK based - hybrid; preference given to candidates in the local Beeston area).

This role sits within the DevOps team and focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining scalable applications that enhance user experience, with a strong emphasis on cloud services, particularly AWS.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy serverless applications using AWS and GCP services such as Cognito, API Gateway, DynamoDB, and Lambda.
  • Build user-friendly web applications using Svelte, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS for a seamless, responsive experience.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps to automate deployments and streamline the development workflow.
  • Utilize Terraform for infrastructure as code (IaC) to provision and manage AWS resources efficiently.
  • Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers to ensure code quality and best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and debug applications to optimize performance and functionality.
  • Participate in Agile sprint ceremonies (planning, review, retro).

Who Are We Looking For

  • Ability to design, develop, and deploy scalable applications with a seamless user experience across front-end and back-end technologies.
  • Experience with back-end API-first development (e.g., C#, ASP.NET Core) and solid experience in modern web development frameworks, plus cloud services like AWS, Fargate, Lambdas, SQS.
  • Experience with Open API integration (Swagger, curl, Postman).
  • Ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient code with good version control and documentation practices.
  • Motivation to leverage technology to create innovative solutions that solve real-world problems and boost user engagement.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues and optimize performance in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of DevOps principles and tooling (e.g., Azure DevOps CI/CD, Terraform) to streamline development and deployment.
  • Experience with unit testing (NUnit, xUnit), microservices, code reviews, and pair programming.
  • Strong knowledge of version control systems such as Git.
