Overview

A well-established business is looking for an accomplished Software Development Manager with a passion for building robust, scalable and secure systems using Python, to join its team. This role is Outside IR35. The company embraces hybrid and flexible working, so you will be able to work remotely, with 1 or 2 days per week at the office in Birmingham.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a small in-house development team as the technical authority and solutions architect on Python software.
• Architect solutions using Python (FastAPI / Flask), lead the technical designs for APIs, data pipelines, cloud infrastructure and backend orchestration.
• Ensure technical quality, code reviews and delivery of complex software projects.
• Partner with key stakeholders to drive forward technological innovation and business growth.

Qualifications and Experience

• Proven experience architecting solutions using Python (FastAPI / Flask).
• Experience leading and mentoring development teams; ability to lead architectural discussions.
• Experience with AWS; familiarity with MongoDB would be advantageous.
