Responsibilities

  • As a Software Development Team Leader, you will guide and support a talented team of developers, driving innovation and delivering impactful software solutions that shape our future.
  • The trading and tools team provide scalable enterprise solutions that enable trading operations to present fixtures across all sports, ensuring this information is fresh and relevant when the action starts by processing millions of events each day.
  • Build and lead a diverse team of Software Developers, measuring quality and delivery while driving continuous improvements. Maintain a solid technical understanding of our systems, remaining close to the solutions being developed.
  • Focus on people, processes, and governance in a fast-paced, challenging environment. Seek passionate individuals with a broad range of technical skills, ready to tackle technology’s greatest challenges.
  • This role is eligible for inclusion in the Company’s hybrid working from home policy.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Passion for software development and creating efficient processes and best practice.
  • Self-motivation with a strong drive to succeed.
  • Ability to handle large workloads with rapid context switching.
  • Strong appreciation of knowledge sharing and mentoring.
  • Knowledge in at least one backend language, or all of the following areas: .Net, MS SQL, Golang and GCP.
  • Knowledge of version control and code repositories.
  • Awareness of Microservices and distributed system architectures.
  • Experience managing multiple delivery streams simultaneously.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or relevant professional experience.

Main Responsibilities

  • Understand business and technical requirements to ensure timely provision of deliverables throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Maintain a solid understanding of the technical structure, domain, and architecture of the systems.
  • Schedule and plan development resources according to business needs.
  • Track and report progress.
  • Mitigate risk and resolve blockers throughout the work.
  • Collaborate with other teams within the business as required.
  • Analyse bugs and communicate with other teams to resolve them, enforcing governance of best practice.
  • Act as a point of escalation for the team both in and out of office hours.
  • Ensure effective allocation of work and support the team’s personal development.
  • Chair team meetings, 1-2-1 sessions and contribute to team appraisals.
