The Team
The Events team owns Algolia’s customer-facing Events API, which lets users send key events into the Algolia system. These events power analytics, personalization, and other features that drive real business impact for our customers. We are expanding and improving this system, and you’ll be instrumental in onboarding to a mature codebase, learning it quickly, and helping shape its future.
The role will consist of
As a Full Stack Software Engineer, you’ll work across backend and frontend code to build reliable event capture, processing, and integration flows. While most of the role focuses on backend engineering in Go, you’ll also be responsible for improving and maintaining our Rails and React-based frontend and our connectors to third party tools such as Segment and Google Analytics.
You’ll:
- Take ownership of an existing product, rapidly learning its architecture and improving its reliability.
- Build, maintain, and evolve backend services in Go on GCP and Kubernetes, as well as our frontend Rails and React applications.
- Write clean, testable, and scalable code that balances speed and quality.
- Partner with product managers and other engineers to deliver features that enable customers to send events to Algolia easily.
- Investigate and debug production issues to ensure high uptime for a critical API.

Must-haves
- Around 4+ years of software engineering experience, ideally across backend and frontend systems.
- Experience in Go, with comfort working in cloud-native environments (GCP, Kubernetes).
- Ability to quickly understand and onboard onto existing codebases.
- Some familiarity with frontend frameworks (React, Rails, or similar).
- Strong collaboration and problem-solving skills in cross-functional teams.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience integrating with Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, Segment, or similar tracking/analytics tools.
- Prior exposure to event-driven systems or data pipelines.
- Knowledge of observability, monitoring, or performance optimization in production systems.
