What you’ll do

You’ll be taking ownership of testing across the platform, combining both automation and exploratory testing to ensure reliable, high-quality releases. That means building and maintaining automated test frameworks, expanding test coverage across unit, integration and end-to-end layers and performing manual and exploratory testing where needed. You’ll be working closely with developers to embed quality into every stage of the process, constructively challenging when required and helping to set the standard for testing best practices. As this is the first role of its kind in the team, you’ll have the opportunity to shape how testing is done, influence tooling choices and carve out your own career path within the business.

Responsibilities

  • Own testing across the platform with a mix of automation and exploratory testing.
  • Build and maintain automated test frameworks and expand coverage across unit, integration and end-to-end layers.
  • Perform manual testing where needed and work with developers to embed quality at every stage.
  • Contribute to testing best practices and tooling decisions as the first dedicated tester in the team.

Qualifications

  • Around 2–5 years of relevant testing or QA automation experience (placements, early career roles or year-in-industry also considered).
  • Solid grounding in web technologies (HTML, CSS and an understanding of how the web works).
  • Hands-on experience with automation frameworks (e.g. Cypress, Playwright, or similar).
  • A strong interest in SaaS/web-based applications.
  • An inquisitive mindset with a genuine passion for learning and improving.
  • Excellent communication skills and the confidence to work closely with developers and stakeholders.
  • Exposure to Elixir, cloud environments (AWS) or performance monitoring tools is a bonus; attitude—curiosity, problem-solving and drive to improve—matters most.

Benefits

  • Remote-first working, with occasional travel to Leeds HQ.
  • £35k-£55k salary (with some flexibility at the lower end for strong juniors).
  • The opportunity to shape the testing function within a fast-growing SaaS product business.

If you’re passionate about quality and want to make your mark in a supportive and ambitious environment, you know where we are....
