Based in Crawley, UK, this role offers the exciting opportunity to guide a talented and diverse team spread across the UK, Canada, and the US, while also being immersed with training products and services at one of Boeing's largest training campuses.

In this high-impact role, you'll collaborate with enterprise engineering teams, airline customers, pilots, and peer software teams to deliver the Boeing aircraft simulations used in all modern industry commercial training simulators. Your solutions will be embedded in everything from level D Full Flight Simulators to lower-level devices to virtualized training products.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and professionally develop software engineers
  • Develop and execute project and process plans while following and improving existing policies and procedures
  • Provide oversight, insight, and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes
  • Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with direct reports, peers, business partners, and other stakeholders
  • Drive the future of Boeing's training simulation technology and tools
  • Travel internationally as required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • 7+ years of experience writing professional software with 3+ years in C, C++, C#, or Java specifically
  • 5+ years of experience developing aircraft simulation software for flight simulator training devices
  • Demonstrable experience leading teams using one or more agile processes
  • Demonstrable experience working with external product management organizations
  • Ability to travel internationally (to Canada and the US) as required

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience managing teams in the software development discipline
  • Experience with DO-178C safety critical software systems
  • Licensed pilot (FAA PPL/EASA PPL-A ASEL or higher), license does not have to be current and no medical is required for this role
  • Experience with integrated avionics systems
  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent

This requisition is for a locally hired position in Crawley. Benefits and pay are determined at the local level and are not part of Boeing U.S. based payroll.
