About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Software Engineering Manager to join the Solutions & AI Labs (SAIL) practice, focusing on helping clients accelerate corporate applications and solutions using Machine Learning to streamline and automate business processes. Our team supports clients across industries with expertise in AI, ML, Cloud and Managed Solutions. You will help build and maintain internal and client solutions and support the growth of our team and capabilities. Depending on level, you may participate in shaping the direction of the practice, growing the business and leading our people.

You will be the point of contact visible to internal and external clients, with much of your day hands-on, supporting L1–L3 Engineers in identifying, resolving, or planning how a request could be delivered into production. The role interlocks with Platform Teams and Engineering teams to extract knowledge and broaden capabilities in fixing and resolving software issues.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the technical support team to ensure efficient resolution of client issues and adherence to SLAs
  • Provide mentorship by forecasting skill development and promoting a culture of learning and development
  • Bridge teams by streamlining communication between Support, Development and Platform teams
  • Incident triage: prioritise incidents, assess impact, risk, complexity and estimated resolution across multiple products
  • Delegate tickets to engineers and foster a safe environment for engineers to succeed
  • Management of backlogs and feature management
  • Client relationship management: provide professional updates to stakeholders and resolve complex issues with clear, concise updates
  • Own complex issues and define/reserve effort estimates for resolutions

Skills and Experience

We’re looking for engineers who can support and bridge the gap between developers and consultancy teams to solve complex client issues and bring solutions to life. The profile includes:

  • Passionate and dynamic, excited by solving complex client problems
  • Lifelong learner with drive to develop skills and the team
  • Lead from the front, own and run engineering support teams and client management, interact with stakeholders, and make impactful recommendations
  • Significant experience in hands-on delivery of software development, support teams and engineering service desks
  • Expertise in ticketing and agile methodologies (ServiceNow, Azure DevOps, Jira)
  • Open to obtaining Azure Cloud Practitioner, AWS Cloud Practitioner or Agile certifications
  • Technical skills include proficiency in at least one language (e.g., Python or JavaScript) and cloud platforms (Azure or AWS)
  • Automation and process streamlining to improve efficiency and scalability
  • Experience in leading engineering support teams, mentoring, and fostering collaboration
  • Strong professional communication and ability to present updates clearly
  • Problem-solving drive and ability to tackle complex client challenges
