Location: Temporary position. Hybrid – 3 days in Sunbury

Length: until 31 st March 2026

Salary: PAYE up to £460pd plus holiday pay or Umbrella Company inside IR35 – up to £640 depending on experience.

We are recruiting for a temporary Dynamo Backend Engineer to join our client based in Sunbury. You will be working on critical systems with direct impact on worker safety. Collaborate with a high-calibre engineering team and help shape the product while gaining experience in large-scale systems for a major Oil & Gas company.

As a Backend Engineer, you will design, develop, and test new backend features, build and enhance microservices, and contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle. You will take ownership of features from concept to delivery, participate in architecture discussions, optimize system performance, develop automated tests, and contribute to code reviews. You will also join the on-call rotation for platform support.

What we are looking for

• 7+ years of software development experience in backend, cloud infrastructure, and large-scale systems.
• Experience developing Go services deployed to Kubernetes.
• Experience with microservices, gRPC, containerization, and event-driven architectures.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Strong understanding of Domain-Driven Design (DDD) or similar methodologies.
• Knowledge of SOLID principles and Test-Driven Development (TDD).
• Experience managing cloud platforms (AWS or Azure), including Infrastructure as Code and site reliability practices.
• Familiarity with DevOps, GitOps, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with Event Sourcing architecture.
• Exposure to .NET web service development is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
