Software Test Engineer – Build, Test & Deliver Next‑Gen Maritime Systems

What You’ll Do

• Build, test, and verify software to support the company’s product range.
• Produce and maintain software build and test specifications.
• Act as a technical liaison both within the organization and with external partners, customers, and collaborators.
• Improve software testability and streamline build/test processes.
• Support wider engineering and project activities as required.
• Participate in on‑site testing and sea trials in the UK and abroad.

What You’ll Bring

• A strong technical background and understanding of the software engineering lifecycle, especially in test and integration.
• Good communication and teamwork skills, with confidence to liaise across technical and non‑technical teams.
• Familiarity with scripting or programming languages for test automation or build scripting.
• A proactive, detail‑oriented approach with a passion for quality and improvement.

Experience That Helps You Stand Out

• Minimum 1 year’s experience testing software for Windows‑based systems.
• Experience writing test plans, test specifications, and reports.
• Exposure to software build processes and installer creation (desirable).
• Previous experience in a technical or engineering environment (preferred).
• A degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
